Here’s a quick excerpt
Forget newspapers or weather reports. Parisians can now look way up in the sky and get a dose of news about current air quality. A humongous color changing weather balloon shifts between four colors to indicate how good or bad the air is at the moment. Green is clean, pristine air, and red means “uh-oh, better stay inside”. The balloon does not sense the air pollution itself, but uses data from a local air quality organization. It can be seen up to twelve miles away. [via Ecogeek]
